Name: Amaterasu; also known as Shiranui and whatever other names people give her

Fandom: Okami

Appearance: A large, white wolf with a black-tipped tail and red markings on her face and along her sides. Not everyone can see the red markings; usually, only those who believe in the Nippon gods can see them. (Other characters may or may not be able to see them, at the mun's discretion.)

Personality: Has above-average intellect, by human standards, but tends to act in a more canine fashion. Communicates mostly through barks and body language. Very friendly and endearing to most. Is eager to help others, not out of a sense of duty, but simply because she can. Often leaps before she looks. Usually a good judge of character, but is known to make mistakes.

Special Abilities: Amaterasu is quicker and more agile than a normal wolf and can leap unusually high. She possesses a weapon known as the Celestial Brush. A list of the brush techniques can be found here.

While Amaterasu is extremely powerful in her own world - she is the sun goddess, after all - her powers are significantly reduced here. Most notably, the Sunrise and Crescent techniques (which turn night to day and day to night, respectively) will simply not work. Any technique that controls weather (e.g. Deluge, Thunderbolt, Blizzard, etc.) will be weak and confined to a small area. In general, her techniques will be weaker and less effective. Additionally, she will not have her other weapons, such as her Solar Flare, when she arrives at New York City.
